Tile & stone

Residential Tile & Stone Installation

Ceramic, porcelain and natural stone for Las Vegas kitchens, baths and entries, laid by a crew that plans the pattern before the first cut.

The dustiest demo of all, and how the crew handles it

Tile is the messiest flooring job in any house, and Affordable Flooring & More says so on their own FAQ page. Most of the dust comes from demolition, and tearing out an old tile floor produces more of it than pulling carpet or lifting laminate. Pretending otherwise would only surprise you on the first morning.

So the crew plans for it. Furniture and cabinets are covered before the work starts, the heavy lifting is theirs, and you are asked only to box up the small items, the breakables and anything sentimental. Pianos, safes, fish tanks and pool tables are yours to move ahead of time. Even with all of that, expect some post-installation cleanup once the last grout line is done.

The people doing the work are Affordable's own trained installers, supervised in the field by Alberto Gomez, who has over thirty years of install background. They are not subcontracted out, which matters on tile, where a crew that knows how your subfloor behaves is worth more than any single product choice.

Materials and layouts that need a plan

The range covers ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic, along with marble, granite tile, slate and travertine. Daltile is the brand to know here, and its display tower stands in the showroom at 6535 N Buffalo Dr, Suite 110, next to a herringbone tile floor you can walk across. Seeing a pattern at full size beats any catalog page.

Patterns are where a tile job is won or lost. Hexagon, chevron, herringbone and large-format layouts each need the starting line set out before any tile is cut, so cuts land evenly at the walls and doorways. An uneven substrate cracks grout and lifts edges later, which is why the crew checks flatness first and fixes it before setting tile, rather than hoping thinset will absorb the difference.

Natural stone asks for a little more care in the choice itself. Marble, slate and travertine each have their own character, softness and sealing needs. Talk through traffic, spills and bare feet in the Las Vegas summer with Mike Buchanan, the Estimator, and bring photos of rooms you like. The showroom is open Monday to Friday from 10 to 5 and Saturday from 9 to 1.

How many days, tile over tile, and the warranty

A standard room takes two to four days. Bigger spaces take a week or more, because setting, curing and grouting all follow their own clock. Free estimates are usually completed within two to three business days of your first contact, and the per square foot ranges the shop publishes are on the FAQ page at /about-us/faqs.

Can new tile go over the old floor? Only sometimes. Whether it can is decided at the in-home measure, after someone has looked at the existing surface, its height and how flat it is. That answer shapes both the days on site and the amount of dust, so it is worth getting right early.

Every installation carries a 2-year installation warranty in addition to the manufacturer's. If something is off, an installer comes back to correct it. To book a measure, call (702) 658-6008 or come in and ask to see the Daltile samples.
