Laminate
Residential Laminate Installation
Wood, stone and tile looks that hold up to a Las Vegas household, picked in our showroom and laid by the crew that works for us.
Does laminate still swell and scratch?
Ask around the valley about laminate and you will still hear the old complaint: planks that swell at the seams, a surface that scuffs the first week a dog crosses the kitchen. Affordable Flooring & More does not accept that picture of the product. Their own published stance on the FAQ page is plain: "Laminate of today is waterproof, extremely scratch-resistant, and durable".
The same answer goes a step further. They call laminate an overall better flooring choice than luxury vinyl plank for most applications, and they say just as plainly that vinyl plank is still a great option and the one more commonly used. They carry good selections of both. That is an unusual thing for a showroom to say out loud, and it changes the conversation on N Buffalo Dr. The talk starts with how you live in the house, not with a default pick.
Morgan Snipper put it in a Google review: "we had laminate installed to replace tile downstairs and had a great experience with affordable flooring!" She also wrote that Mike took the time to help her settle on laminate over vinyl plank, and that the crew who did the work were professional and courteous. A tile floor coming out and laminate going in is one of the most common swaps they handle.

Long wood-look planks running through a Las Vegas kitchen
Looks, brands and what the planks can take
Laminate here comes in wood looks, stone looks and tile looks, so a kitchen can read like slate and a bedroom like wide-plank oak without the upkeep either one would ask for. The line they point to by name is Pergo Extreme. Their descriptions of the category are straightforward: water-resistant, heavy-duty, and available in eco options for people who care where the material comes from.
The best way to choose is to stand over the samples at the showroom, 6535 N Buffalo Dr, Suite 110. Hours are Monday to Friday from 10 to 5 and Saturday from 9 to 1, walk-ins are welcome, and after hours is by appointment. Desert light is strong, and a plank that looks warm under store lights can read cooler at home, so ask about the mobile showroom if you want the sample to come to your own living room and sit on your own subfloor.
Laminate can often go right over an existing vinyl, tile or hardwood floor, provided what is underneath is flat and clean. Whether your floor qualifies is decided at the in-home measure, not guessed from a photo. If it is not flat, the crew tells you what prep it needs before a single plank is clicked together.
Days on site, new baseboard and the warranty behind the work
An average room takes one to two days. Larger spaces take three to five. The people on your floor are Affordable's own trained crew, supervised by Alberto Gomez, not a subcontractor who has never seen the showroom. Free estimates are usually finished within two to three business days of your first contact, so the gap between asking and knowing stays short.
New baseboard is part of the job, which is what hides the expansion gap at the wall and finishes the room instead of leaving a raw edge. The crew handles the heavy lifting of moving furniture. You box up the small items, the breakables and anything sentimental. The published per square foot ranges for laminate, with demo and baseboard included, sit on the FAQ page at /about-us/faqs, so you can see the real numbers before anyone visits.
Every installation carries a 2-year installation warranty on top of the manufacturer's own. If something looks off, they send an installer back out to correct it. Expect some post-installation cleanup when the last plank is down. To start, call (702) 658-6008 or stop by the showroom and ask to see the laminate samples.
