Residential Hardwood Installation

Solid or engineered, oak to walnut, chosen in our Las Vegas showroom and laid by our own crew.

Why hardwood fails before the finish does

A hardwood floor is only as good as what it sits on. If the subfloor is not flat or not dry, the boards will squeak, cup or open gaps no matter how good the wood is. That is why a Residential Hardwood Installation here starts with the subfloor: we check that it is clean, even and free of moisture problems, and we prep it before a single board goes down.

Wood also moves with temperature and humidity, and Las Vegas houses swing between hard air conditioning and desert heat. Boards that go down straight off a truck can shift once the house settles into a normal day. Our Preparing Your Home page spells out the routine: clear the room, take out the old flooring if needed, ventilate, and let the materials acclimate to your home's temperature.

The last mistake is choosing a finish for looks instead of traffic. A dark, glossy finish shows every footprint and scratch in a busy entry, while a satin or matte finish is far more forgiving with kids, pets and a front door that opens straight onto the living room. We talk that through at the showroom, before the order is placed.

Solid or engineered, oak or walnut?

We install both. Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood from top to bottom, while engineered hardwood has a real wood surface over a layered core. Both come in oak, maple and walnut, and in exotic species when you want something different. Our team at 6535 N Buffalo Dr, Suite 110 helps you with selection, so you see the grain and color in person rather than on a phone screen.

Custom designs and patterns are part of the work, not an extra trade we send out. The curved dark floor in our gallery is the kind of detail a straight-lay plan would never give you. Finish options are chosen alongside the wood, and our estimator, Mike Buchanan, measures in your home and gives a free, no-obligation estimate, most within 2 to 3 business days of your first call.

A standard room usually takes 1 to 3 days. Larger rooms and pattern work take longer, and we give you the schedule at the estimate. Hardwood is quoted after you choose the species and we measure, and the published per-square-foot ranges for other floors are on the FAQs page.

Repair, refinishing and the 2-year installation warranty

Hardwood is the one floor you can bring back. We handle repair and refinishing, so a scratched stretch by the patio door or a worn hallway does not mean tearing the floor out. If you have an older floor you are thinking about replacing, ask us at the measure whether a refinish would do the job.

Every installation carries our 2-year installation warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty on the wood. If anything is off, we send an installer back out to correct it. Our own trained crew does the work, not a subcontractor, supervised by Alberto Gomez, who has over thirty years of install background.
